November 4 through 8
From Mrs. Rosen-Leacher
The Generosity Project, a non-profit organization, has partnered with the Pleasant Ridge Elementary First Grade Teachers to host a service project in the Pleasant Ridge Café on Tuesday, November 26th. The Generosity Project’s mission is “To teach children about generosity and philanthropy through a hands-on experience in which donations of basic necessities and supplies are obtained and distributed to underserved children and adults.” For more details and information on The Generosity Project, please check out the website at www.thegenproject.org.
The 1st-grade students are excited to take on an active roll in giving back to their community and chose to help local families and animals by making dog beds and donating supplies to The Huron Valley Humane Society. The mission of the Huron Valley Humane Society is to support the loving, responsible care of all animals in our community by:
- Ensuring proper, nurturing care for the animals in our shelter
- Placing all adoptable animals in loving homes
- Reducing pet over-population
- Caring for the physical well-being of animals in our community
- Providing education and outreach to the community
- Stopping animal cruelty
We are asking families to help out, below are a couple different options to donate/help:
Overall, donations help lower HVHS overhead costs and are much appreciated.
However, if you donate money, they can buy in bulk and often save with a nonprofit rate too! Please think about how you’d like to donate.
