November 11 through 15

From Mrs. Rosen-Leacher

New this year: In support of the SAS Compass/Learner Profile, the district has identified a specific attribute that each building/grade level will focus on. Each of our K-3 buildings will be focusing on helping students learn and apply the skills of a positive communicator. In order to help you monitor your child’s progress, we have added these skills to our report card for grades K-3.

To learn more:

Winter is Upon Us: Just a quick reminder our students go outside for recess every day if the temperature is 10 degrees or warm (factoring in windchill). Please make sure your students have dressed appropriately for the weather!

🥙 🥗🍝 Fall Parent/Teacher Conference’s are coming up on Nov. 13th & 14th. As a ‘Thank You’ for the long hours that our teachers endure these days, we like to come together and provide them with a nice home-cooked meal.

The teachers will be eating at 4:00, so we ask that all food donations be dropped off in the staff lounge at 3 pm on the date that you signed up for.

Season of Sharing

Monday, November 18, 2019, starts the Busch’s Fresh Food Market’s Season Of Sharing Food Drive. Adults, students, and families can sign-up to volunteer throughout the week and weekend at Busch’s through Wednesday, November 27th (volunteer slots are available at 30-minute increments). This is an important event for SASS, and our partner Food Gatherers, because it raises as much as $11,000 to provide food for struggling families and individuals living in the Saline area.
